Sausage Orecchiette

Ingredients
1lb orecchiette pasta
1lb spicy italian sausage
12 broccoli
1/2-1 cup chicken stock
1tsp red pepper flakes (or several shakes for 20-30 seconds)
3 cloves garlic, minced
1-2tbsp olive oil
1tbsp butter
3/4 cup freshly grated pecorino romano (or 1 cup parmesan)
Directions
Decase italian sausage by slicing the casing of the sausage lengthwise, and peel casing off.
Begin cooking pasta in a boiling pot of water. Cook for amount of time specified on box.
When straining pasta, optionally keep 1/2 cup of pasta water to incorporate as a sauce later.
Add olive oil to deep pan or wok with on low to medium heat.
Once pan is hot, add sausage to the pan. Break into smaller pieces (1 inch diameter) and cook until golden brown.
Once sausage is cooked, add garlic, chicken stock, and red pepper flakes. Let simmer for 2 minutes. About a minute in, add the butter.
Add broccoli and cover the pan, letting the broccoli cook for about 4-5 minutes.
Add sausage mixture to pasta, and also add in cheese and pasta water (if saved). Stir until mixed thoroughly.
